Training for Parents
Training attendance is limited to enrolled parents who have attended a Project 1.27 orientation, submitted committment forms and paid the program fee of $100.
For couples, both parents must attend the entire training.
Please arrange your schedule to arrive by 5:00pm.
FOSTER ADOPT CORE TRAINING (FACT)
Foster Adopt Core Training (FACT) meets the core competencies outlined in the Colorado Department of Human Services Child Welfare Practice Handbook. FACT is taught by experienced instructors in a church setting with a Christian perspective.
PROJECT 1.27 CORE TRAINING (P Core)
Project 1.27 Core (PCORE) is a unique Biblically-based training that complements the competencies outlined in the Colorado Department of Human Services Child Welfare Practice Handbook. Taught by pastors, professionals and Project 1.27 adoptive parent alumni in a church setting with a Christian perspective.
SUPPORT TEAM TRAINING
Support Team Training is for P 1.27 families and their Support Team members, providing valuable information on how to effectively support friends and family as they care for foster and adopted children; the impact on the birth children in their home; and the impact on a new child entering the family.
The focus is on the Christian practices of prayer, understanding the situation, developing and maintaining relationships, and encouraging one another.
Each family is required to attend and to bring a minimum of four (4) additional friends or family team members. A video version of this training is available to registered P1.27 families who have attended Support Team Training. Contact your case manager for a password to view via this link.
CPR and FIRST AID
All foster and adoptive parents must be certified in CPR and First Aid, including skills for infants and children. Parents should inform the trainer that they are becoming certified for foster care.

If you are an enrolled Project 1.27 family (you have attended Orientation, completed the Commitment Forms and paid the $100 fee), email our Office Administrator for scheduled training dates.
