How to Help

Support Team

Assist those who are adopting by joining the support team!

1st Step: Go to Orientation Meeting
2nd Step: Get Training

Check out our current needs:

Prayer Team
Are you called to be a prayer warrior for adoptive families and Project 1.27? Responsibilities would be:

  • Prayer requests/praise by email.
  • Praying for specific needs that adoptive parents will have before placement, during placement, and after finalization of the adoption.
  • Praying for the needs of Project 1.27 staff

Meal Team
Do you have the gift of cooking and organizing meals? Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing four Welcome Home Meals for an adoptive family when a child(ren) moves in.
  • Make an occasional meal for an adoptive family.

Event Coordination Team
Would you love to help us celebrate special adoption events? Responsibilities include:

  • Catering P-1.27 events (planning, set up, take down)
  • Organizing child placement and adoption gifts
  • Hosting/organizing adoption parties

Office Help
Has God given you the gift of organization? Responsibilities include:

  • As needed basis to help with various projects (i.e. mailings, copying, data entry, Orientation prep.)
  • Office will contact you to see if you are available

P.U.R.E Team
Can you surround and support a Project 1.27 Adoptive Family through prayer, understanding, relationship and encouragement? Responsibilities include:

  • Prayer: Pray for your adoptive family
  • Understanding: Offer understanding through the journey
  • Relationship: Build relationships with your adoptive family
  • Encouragement: Encourage your adoptive family through the journey
  • *Training required to be part of P.U.R.E Team:
    1) Orientation Meeting
    2) P.U.R.E. Team Training (2.5 hour class)

Material Donations Team
Do you love finding a good deal and blessing others? Responsibilities include:

  • Help find donations (used goods, garage sales, retail, etc.)
  • Storing of donations
  • Organize and distribute donations to adoptive families (i.e. furniture, computers, clothing)

Weekend Hospitality Team
Could you house an out of town couple or family while they attend required training, counseling, etc in Denver? Responsibilities include:

  • Provide housing for an out of town adoptive parent/s for the weekend of their training class.
  • Classes are Friday evening and all day Saturday.

Financial Support for Adoptive Families
Do you have resources or knowledge about financial matters? Some Suggestions:

  • Help build a P1.27 family fund (i.e. pay for summer camp, little league, school fees, etc.)
  • Tax Assistance / Debt Counseling for P 1.27 adoptive families
  • Materials/$$$ for home improvements required for adoption (from basic home repairs to possible home additions)

Financial Donations for the Ministry of Project 1.27
Do you have the resources and are you led to support Project 1.27 in this way? Did you know that the state spends close to $8000/year on a single child in foster care-and at the end of that year the child may still be in the system? Do you know that it takes Project 1.27 about $5000 a year ($416/month or $14/day) to help permanently place a child? Some suggestions:

  • Sponsor the P1.27 expenses for one child's forever placement.
  • Donate funds for a specific project within the ministry (i.e. gifts for children, office equipment)
  • Expand the P1.27 vision to reach churches throughout Colorado until there are "No Waiting Children in Colorado"

Financial Development Team
Do you share a vision for Project 1.27 and its Adoptive Families? Do you have skills in financial development that would help Project 1.27 develop a long term financial base? Some suggestions:

  • Grant writing
  • Donor development
  • Annuity based giving
  • Help brainstorm other ways to help financially expand the vision of Project 1.27.

Respite Care Team
Is God leading you to be certified in providing care for adoptive children and their families? Responsibilities include:

  • Provide occasional babysitting or overnight care for children prior to finalized adoption. *Training is required: (A detailed explanation of Respite Care is available through Project 1.27).

Support Group Facilitators
Are you a professional therapist who could help with monthly support group meetings? Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate monthly support group meetings (Specific needs to be determined.) *Requirement: Need to be a licensed therapist.

Special Needs Advocate Team
Do you have a gift that could support an adoptive child with special needs? Responsibilities include:

  • Support adopted children with special needs by offering pro bono or reduced rate services (i.e. tutoring assistance, mental health, educational needs/questions, speech therapy, etc.)

Home Improvement Team
Are you gifted with home improvement skills? Responsibilities include:

  • Helping adoptive families with home improvements pertaining to adoption
  • Offer pro-bono or reduced rate services (i.e. plumbing, electrical, construction)
  • Volunteer to work on a home improvement team

Professional Services Team
Do you have a professional service you could use to bless an adoptive family? Some suggestions:

  • Offer pro-bono or reduced rates for professional services. (i.e. vision, dental, massage therapist, music lessons, CPR instructor, realtor, PhD.)
